Brent Hammarstrom

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of

Brent McKay Hammarstrom. Brent was 58 when he passed away on October 28th, 2023, in Newark, Ca. He was born on September 13, 1965, in Hayward, CA, the son of Richard Emil and Sarah Marie Kanzler Hammarstrom. Brent attended East Union High School and worked for DeMiguel plumbing.

He was a tradesman, a craftsman, and a remarkably talented individual who loved to get his hands dirty. He lived his life to the fullest and loved a good adrenaline rush! From cars, to bikes, he loved to go, go, go. He was also a charismatic man with so much love and energy that was hard to top. He will be remembered for his smile, his infectious laugh, and his fierce loyalty to his friends and family. The world loss an amazing individual that can never be replaced but will be lovingly remembered.

Brent was also a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by children: Jessey Hammarstrom, Sarah Seidl and her husband, Jaryn; Kristina Icardi and her husband, Michael;  and their mother, Barbara. His grandchildren: Jack Hammarstrom, Harrison Seidl, Carson Seidl, Kennedy Seidl, Jaxson Seidl, Kassey Seidl, and a baby boy Icardi on the way; Siblings: Richard Jr. (Suzanne); Julie (David) Crockett; James (Kristie); B. David; Stephen (Celeste); Glen (Elaine)

Preceded in death by his daughter Julia and his mother Sarah.
