Bruce Donald Clardy was born November 3, 1952 to the parents of DC Clardy and Josephine Amelia Clardy In Los Angeles, California.
While, Bruce was just a toddler DC suffered a car accident, causing amnesia. DC would relocate to Arkansas to live with his mother Nobie Clardy(Bruce’s grandmother). Josephine would later marry Lee D Mays Sr. This would make Bruce the big brother to Leslie “Diane”,Linda, Lee “ Dino” Mays Jr ,and Lisa. In those years Bruce would also carry the Mays last name.
As a child, Bruce was very independent. At age of 10 he was a librarians assistant, a lifeguard, a Boy Scout, he played baseball, football And served on the Junior usher board at the family, church Faithful Central Missionary Baptist Church. By middle school he discovered his love for agriculture. Something that would stay with him throughout his life.
Bruce loved his three children, Jason, David and Tawnisha. Over the years he would affectionately refer to them as his garden. Bruce was fun loud talking and long-winded. He didn’t do small talk. He always came with a message of power and truth.
In 1995 he began working as a Service Employee at AC Transit Emeryville (D2) In 2001. He became a Bus Operator. Bruce was known for driving the late night 376 run through Parchester Village (D3). Bruce retired in 2010. He made many friends along the way and will be missed dearly.
Thank you Heavenly Father the life of Bruce Donald Clardy. He was a one in a million chance of a life time.
