Kathy Marie Carter Boyd-Puckett, age 66, of Antioch, California, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025.
Kathy Carter was born on May 19, 1959, in San Francisco, California, to Willie Carter and Bertha Mosley. She received her education in San Francisco and attended John O’Connell High School, where she discovered her talent and passion for cooking. In 1981, she entered into a union that lasted forty-four years with her beloved husband, Roy Puckett. Together they built a beautiful life and raised four daughters. Kathy taught her girls wisdom, patience, confidence, and unconditional love. She showed them how to be strong women, how to stand up for themselves, and how to care for others with compassion and grace.
As a grandmother, she adored her two grandsons. Their laughter filled her heart with joy, and she cherished every moment with them. She showered them with hugs, stories, and the gentle, comforting love that only a grandmother can give.
She dedicated thirty-one years of service as a cook for the Oakland Unified School District, where her warmth and kindness nourished countless students
Kathy’s legacy lives on in the strength of her daughters, the love of her grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and nurturing spirit. She loved the Lord and was a faithful and devoted servant throughout her life. ... She knew that the Lord was walking with her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Kathy is survived by her soulmate, Roy Puckett; her four daughters, Shanise Boyd-Jackson, Seneca Boyd-Tan, Asmara Puckett, and Simone Puckett; her two grandsons, Jimmie Williams Jr. and Royce Williams; her sisters, Denise White, Angela Goodwin, and Vanessa Carter; her brother, Calvin Carter; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
